Service: 1968 - 1987. Entered Army as a private and retired as full colonel. Company Commander of Company B, 4th Battalion, 23d Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. Served two Vietnam tours, Korea, and Saudi Arabia. Graduate of Infantry Officer's Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, and Army War College. Studied Vietnamese and Arabic at Defense Language Institute.
Last Assignment: Pentagon — Chief of Persian Gulf Section, Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Died: December 10, 2020 — Fort Polk, Vernon, LA; Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA
Service: Completed a legendary 27-year infantry and Special Forces career (1987-2014). After qualifying for Special Forces in 1992, he served with the 1st and 3rd Battalions of the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) on ODAs 332 and 334 as a Weapons and Intelligence Sergeant. A graduate of the Sergeants Major Academy, he deployed across multiple combat campaigns, culminating his career as the Command Sergeant Major for the International Security Assistance Force-Special Operations Forces (ISAF-SOF) in Afghanistan, serving as top enlisted advisor to US and international coalition Generals.
Qualifications: Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd Award), Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge.
